- Superb sound quality from a very small package
I usually don't write reviews, but these speakers are so good, I felt compelled to do it. Firstly, they are extremely small and look really good.
The Good:
Sound quality is awesome. I used to think my laptop speakers gave good enough sound quality for listening to music. After listening to music from this speaker, I have to re-evaluate that.
One gripe I had with my laptop speakers, and the primary reason for me buying this product, was that the speakers were simply not loud enough to watch movies. But with this speaker hooked to my laptop, that is no longer a problem.
The bass quality is decent for such a small speaker, and if anyone expects any more than this, they are asking for too much. The sound produced by the speaker is much deeper and more realistic than by laptop speakers.
All possible functions that you can think of are included, on/off switch, volume control, bass, led light and the battery life is supposed to be great (I haven't fully checked the battery life).
The speaker seems to be made to last and is extremely compact and efficient. You could put the speaker on the laptop, while typing (which is what I am doing as I write this review).
The bad:
The only thing I can think of, the wire to connect to the audio port is very short, but that is not a major quibble, - BELIEVE THE REVIEWS
Okay, so I have never reviewed anything before but felt compelled to once I bought the x-mini. I based my decision to purchace this after reading all the positive feedback that was being left. This was well worth the money spent. Most of the other small speakers run around the twenty dollar range but use batteries. The x-mini is rechargeable and even though I do not run the speaker for hours on end every day of the week, it still carries a charge for a long time. I was really impressed with the sound quality of this little speaker! I didn't buy it expecting to generate sound to fill an opra house, but I have not yet found a need to crank the speaker to it's max. It produces plenty of sound to use at my desk. The only drawback (if you would even consider this one) is the recharge cord is kind of short. I could see where this could produce a problem if you were trying to use the speaker while charging, but as previously stated, it seems to keep a charge. The ability to connect more than one is another good feature, but for me, one pumps out plenty of sound. It also came with a felt carring bag that is great to protect it when you carry it with you. My message to the people that made this is "job well done". - Must Have - Powerful Little Speaker!
This speaker is the size of a golf ball but is louder and clearer than my full size Gateway Desktop Speakers or my Audiosource DB-5 speakers. It has a long battery life but can also be played while it is being charged from any pc with an available USB port. So, you never really have to use the battery if you are playing music or watching movies on your pc. You can just save the battery power and use it when you are playing music from an external device that doesn't have a regular size USB port or no USB port at all such as a cell phone, cd player, portable dvd player or mp3 player.
In addition, you can plug multiple units together to increase the intensity of the sound, and make it even louder. And, with the addition of one or more 3.5mm extension cord(s), you can place these units all around your room to create a surround sound effect. I would recommend these speakers to anyone that is looking for quality sound. - Little red boom bug!
I was skeptical that such a small speaker could deliver the sound--it does! I love the color and the compact quality makes it easy for travel. I have had it for a month and the battery is still going strong with the original charge. I am going to give them in different colors for Christmas gifts. Great product! - Just what I was looking (and listening) for
I've had this speaker for about 2 months now and have used it almost daily. It comes with me to the kitchen, the backyard, the car, the hotel room... and I haven't had to recharge it yet! It is exactly what I wanted: tiny, uber-portable, good quality sound, easy to use. I almost never use my headphones now, which means that when my husband comes to keep me company while I'm cooking and I don't have to choose between my music or him!
It's important to note that while the sound quality is way better than one would expect from such a tiny machine, it serves its purpose and isn't a replacement for a high quality system. It plugs in easily to your MP3 player or computer, has its own cord keeper, and slips into a purse, backpack, briefcase, or suitcase.
I'm listening to it right now, enjoying Simon & Garfunkel while I fold laundry and work on email. Like I said, it's exactly what I wanted and I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for portability, good sound, and ease!
