    It's All About Power
The primary cause of dropped calls is low signal output power from the cell phone to the cell tower, which limits the phone's ability to communicate with the tower. A typical cell phone provides merely one-fifth of a watt of output power. To address this problem, the amplifier and the included magnet mount antenna work together to increase the phone's output power by more than 12 times over using just the phone alone.

Enjoy Premium Reception and Fewer Dropped Calls
Living or working in an area with limited cell phone coverage, which is caused by natural and man-made obstructions or by living out of range from a cell phone tower, you know how frustrating weak reception can be. By increasing the power output of your cell phone signal, the Wilson MobilePro helps eliminate most of the signal loss caused by these obstructions. It's important to note that the strongest signal is obtained when the MobilePro is within two feet of your cell phone, laptop, or data card. If you sit at a distance greater than two feet, simply set your phone next to the MobilePro booster and use a Bluetooth headset.

The MobilePro comes with several power options, including a vehicle cigarette lighter adapter, a USB power cable, and a standard five-volt AC/DC adapter. The variety of power options ensures that you'll have a boosted signal whether you're driving in your car, traveling with your laptop, or working at your desk. Included with the booster kit is a convenient carrying case that fits neatly inside a briefcase, handbag, or suitcase.

Once installed, the MobilePro can simultaneously support multiple cell phones and data cards. You'll experience fewer dropped calls, clearer call quality, and improved data rates--even with 3G technologies.

    Installing the MobilePro
Installation is quick and easy; everything you need for installation in a building or car is included in the kit.

    In a Building
To install, simply attach the suction-cup window bracket to the inside of the window and place the magnet mount antenna on the bracket. Connect the magnet mount antenna to the amplifier. Power the amplifier by using the included USB power cord and plugging it into a computer's USB port, or by using the standard AC adapter. Place the MobilePro within 12 inches of your phone, laptop, or data card to receive an improved signal.

    In a Car
To install, simply attach the magnet mount antenna to the roof of your vehicle. Connect the cable of the magnet mount antenna to the amplifier. Mount the amplifier to the dash or other area using the supplied mounting hardware. Power the amplifier using the cigarette lighter adapter, or by plugging the USB cord into your laptop computer. Now you're ready to enjoy a stronger cell phone signal typically within two feet of the amplifier.

Compatible with Most Cell Phone Models and Providers
The Wilson MobilePro is compatible with all US and Canadian cellular providers, excluding iDEN, Nextel, and MIKE. The kit supports CDMA, TDMA, GSM, and AMPS cell phone technologies, as well as data protocols such as GPRS, 1xRTT, HSDPA, EVDO, and EDGE.

Customer Reviews:
  • It Works but It Ain't Magic
I bought this Wilson product to use a Verizon cell phone in a home office where where one bar signal strength was as good as it got. I live in a very rural area where signals are weak overall and my office is sited in just the WRONG spot, it would seem. I frequently experienced dropped calls, especially if I didn't sit in exactly the right spot, hold my head perfectly still and face the exact right direction. You know the drill. Many of the electronic products I looked at were very expensive. Plus, after researching a number of them, frankly, the effectiveness of the technology seems spotty overall, even if you spend a lot of money. Buying one could be cell signal roulette but spending too little money guarantees a useless product. The MobilePro fits in that "three bears" area where it wasn't too cheap and it wasn't too expensive. The reviews were good enough for me to risk giving it a shot. The bottom line is that it worked! It was not a "chorus of angels" moment but where I once had zero or one bar, I now have one to three, depending on atmospherics. Dropped calls are now very few and far between and I can sit casually and comfortably at my desk to make a cell call. Some useful tips would include paying close heed to the instructions. You absolutely need every inch of that recommended distance between the module and the antenna or you get the dreaded red light (you'll understand when you have the unit). You also may wish, as I do, for a longer antenna cable so you can route it a bit more unobtrusively. That would depend on the office layout, however. I will attest to this product's effectiveness in my situation but the many reviews out there would still indicate there is an element of "voodoo" with cell signal booster products overall. My evaluation is ongoing, as I have not yet had the opportunity to try this unit out in the car, but I am very happy with my purchase. It solved a big problem for me.
  • Not as good as the price would suggest
This booster "barely" boosts your cell signal.

There are much better signal boosters out there that are cheaper.
  • Better Reception
Just picked up a new Sprint Droid and found I no longer had ANY Sprint reception at home. Sprint recommended a booster and I was told the Wilson Mobile Professional is the best for a small area. SMALL AREA means your phone must be within a two foot range of the booster! If your using this in your car it's really great. At home, not so swift. I called Wilson in St. George, Utah and was pleased, VERY pleased with their customer service, spoke with real people that actually care! I'm up grading to a larger unit... nothing but good to say about Wilson and their products. It's a no risk deal! As for the new Sprint Droid, there are much better phones out ther for less money that don't require purchasing expensive booster systems.
  • VERY POOR PERFORMACE AND SERVICE
Was REALLY looking forward to this Product. Have a Summer Home in Northern Michigan where regular Cell Service (AT&T) is ALWAYS a "hit-or-miss" challenge. Upon studying the Product Reviews on the Amazon Site and ALSO the Wilson Electronics Site I felt confident that the Product would give us "just enough" boost to enable us to depend on Cell Service in case of emergency needs. I (Very) Carefuuly read the entire Owner's Manual prior to set-up and followed the installation directions dotting every 'i' and crossing every 't'. While the unit DID light-up green we received NO additional Service Dependability. NO PROBLEM I thought. On the Amazon Web Site...as well as on the Wilson Packaging...in plain and simple English...it CLEARLY STATES that "Your Satisfaction and product performace are assured with Wilson's 30-day Money-Back guarantee and 1-Year Limited Warranty".

Since then...I have...AT MY EXPENSE AND TIME...been attempting to secure authorization to return this product and exercise the "Money-Back Guarantee" contacting on NUMEROUS occassions by phone and email...1) Amazon; 2) Amazon's Vendor: "ANTOnline"; and, even the Manufacturer: Wilson Electronics but I'm NOT getting anywhere!

I even filed the "A-Z Claim" with Amazon and ANTOnline "side-stepped" the return issue calling the LACK OF PERFORMANCE a "defect" EVEN THOUGH I CLEARLY STATED IN DETAIL THAT IT WAS A "PERFORMANCE" AND NOT A PRODUCT QUALITY ISSUE!

I AM TOTALLY UPSET WITH ALL OF THE COMPANIES INVOLVED IN THIS...ESPECIALLY AMAZON!

The Service totally lacks ANY Professionlism and the Client Treatment is the WORSE I've ever experienced with Amazon!

ANTOnline stated that since I had "opened" the Packaging...they could no longer resell the Product as "New" and therefore would not accept the product for refund! How? HOW DOES ONE HOOK-UP A PRODUCT TO SEE IF IT "PERFORMS" WITHOUT OPENING THE PACKAGE???

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBT WHATSOEVER IF IT WILL "PERFORM" OR NOT!

I know from this experience...I will think twice before ordering any sort of electronics from Amazon again. I would caution everyone else to also think that way.

  • Works well enough, I guess
I have followed the directions as given and my iPhone reception is reasonable. Has it improved with the use of this device? I cannot really claim to have seen a difference, but then I don't wear the Borg/Bluetooth earpiece, so my phone goes with me when I talk on it. I still get an occasional dropped call, or show minimal reception bars even when I sit the phone right next to the device to text message. I have used my phone both with and without the device, and while not observing _strict_ scientific method, I am not sure that I notice a difference either way.

I have not tried the device in its auto configuration, my use has been wholly stationary.

Ultimately, it seems like for my personal location my cell reception varies with and without the device and my benefit from using this signal booster is questionable, enough so that I would not recommend that anyone spend the $200+ unless they are in dire need of a signal booster. P-)
