I ordered 3 of these to charge my Iphone4, and the same brand Cig USB Charger that has two ports. Outstanding Quality. - Started out great
But after only a month of light use only in my car, the locking mechanism stopped working. That is, it no longer locks in place after pulling the cable out - it's always retracted now.

Before I bought the Scosche cable I'd tried other retractable cables without much luck. I was really feeling displeased with the other products. I almost didn't purchase this one, but I'm glad I did.
As another reviewer noted, this cable is quite a bit shorter than stated in the product description, but no worries - it's still been very adequate for our needs. If you're ok with the length of this cable, this product should work well. We've had ours several months now, used it regularly, and haven't had problems with it.
The only downside to this particular cable ... make sure, when ordering,that you order the exact cable which is made to fit your particular product. While I didn't have problems, there are others who have, and their frustration is evident ... they rip open the pkg, try to plug it in, and realizing it's not going to fit I've seen people do one of 2 things. I've seen them try to force it - NOT a good idea, but understandable, or seeing it won't fit, put everything back in the pkg - to send back. Either way it's not ideal - better to do it right the first time. If it's close and you can make it fit with NO worries, go ahead, but if there's any question - return it! Don't try to force it, or you could find yourself with a broken port! - Very handy
I bought this after I got my iPhone, and now keep it plugged into the usb port of my desktop computer, which is very convenient for charging and synching the phone. It took a bit to get used to how I should pull it, as there was instructions that I just didn't quite get, but once I did, I really love this item. - Fails after a few months.
This product is an expensive paper weight.
It works fine for a couple months, then you notice your iPod and iPhone start crashing while playing music. Then, you start getting read errors when you plug in. First about 10% of the time, then eeking up to 50%. Then, it stops working entirely.
Time release FAIL.
