- Battery performance
This is the second replacement battery I purchased for my Bold 9000. This battery does not have the daily power-level life that I had with the original battery and first replacement. This battery is better than some "no name" batteries I have used on other devices. My 8 month old 2nd battery has longer battery life than this new one. - Doesn't fit without modification
These batteries won't fit in my Bold 9000s (I have about 20 of them) without filing off some of the plastic on the sides. They work fine once they're in the units.
They appear to be genuine and look just like the current batteries so I don't know why they won't fit correctly. - AccessoryOne - Used Battery
I ordered the battery from AccessoryOne and received a used battery when the site clearly said it was new. The battery was scratched and dirty and lasted only half a day.
The seller's response has been very poor, even argued the item they sent was new. This is my first bad experience with Amazon and it leaves a bad taste in dealing with this seller.
I have spent a week sending daily emails, begging for an RMA and now I have to pay for shipping to return a defective and used item.
Since then, I purchased a new battery from the AT&T store and it has held it's charge for two days on my 9000. - Questionable provenance and NOT NEW
As far as I can tell, this appears to be a real Blackberry M-S1 battery, but there are some very strange things about the battery I received that make me believe that it is either a returned product, pulled out of a returned phone, a refurb of some sort, or perhaps a convincing counterfeit.
I can only speak to the battery that I received from SFPlanet, so I don't know that all of the M-S1 batteries sold by SFPlanet are like this.
First, it came in a little plastic bag that makes it look like it's an original Blackberry part. But the bag was very ratty and worn, and it is clear that it had been opened previously, as there are tears in the bag, and a hole where the tape was pulled open.
Once I removed the battery, it was obvious that it was not brand new. There were slight scuffs on the plastic, some light scratches, and greasy fingerprints all over it. The gold colored contacts did not have obvious wear marks like my original battery, so it doesn't seem that it has been used heavily, but it's clearly not "new".
Finally, when I tried to put the battery in my Bold 9000, it wouldn't fit. It is just slightly longer than the original battery, and does not drop easily in the phone. I was able to eventually squeeze it into the phone, but taking it out is quite a challenge. The original battery that I have easily goes in and out of my phone.
Based on all of this, I think it is definitely a questionable product, and I have no idea if it will last, hold a charge, etc. If SFPlanet would explain where they got the battery and why it looks the way it does, it would help ease my concerns.
It seems to charge and my phone seems to work using it for the few hours I've had it, but given that you can get a legitimate brand new BB battery for just a few more dollars, I would recommend shopping elsewhere. - Identical Battery
