I used this split mini usb cable to charge two Blackberry Curve at the same time without any problems. It is an OEM motorola charger cable. - who woulda thunk it?
Who would've thought this little piece of wire (it's sturdy but small is the point) would be one of the handiest little things in my bag of tricks? I have both a motorola phone and car speaker. My phone needs charging more often than the speaker but, when they both need charging at once, out comes this handy little thing and voila, like magic, all is well with my world. I just wish someone would make something similar (a mini usb/usb, that worked obviously as this is oem I realize so obviously has something in it's workings) so I could charge my phone along with my GPS on the same charger, wouldn't that be nice. - Does not work with Blackberry Tour 9630
This seems like a fine "Y" connector and I very much like the concept but I bought it to use with my new Blackberry Tour 9630 smartphone and learned that there is a difference between the "mini-USB" connector (what this "Y" connector is) and the "micro-USB" connector (what I needed for my Blackberry). So I am simply back here to post to save others the problem that I had. In other words, this "Y" connector will not directly work with my Blackberry and bluetooth headset (both micro-USB connections) which is why I purchased it.
By the way, I found an adaptor for the mini-USB to the micro-USB here on Amazon "MINI USB charger to Micro USB Charger Converter" which I haven't ordered or used but I have yet to find a "Y" connector with micro-USB connections all around. - No more arguments in the car!
This is OEM and thus works flawlessly! No more arguing over "power ports" from the kids in the back when I'm trying to charge my cell phone & they need to top off their electronic devices, but forgot their car charger. Another use is to charge both your phone & Bluetooth earpiece simultaneously with only one charger/power port. I even purchased a USB-to-miniUSB adapter to fit my Motorola earpiece. I honestly don't know how Amazon can sell this for such a low price! - will not charge a Motorola S9 Bluetooth Active Headphone
the title says it all. Apparently the "accessory" leg of the adapter is current limited, which i can understand, but i don't see why a Motorola product won't work with a Motorola charger and a Motorola headset. Fortunately I did not pay very much for it.
