- Excellent Blue Tooth TV sound adapter
Bought this adapter to use with Oticon hearing aid blue tooth "streamer" to listen to TV or stereo sound through the hearing aids. Hearing aid people sold their brand of TV adapter for $175, but it had major problems with interference. The Motorola device costs a lot less and works like a charm. No interference. Very powerful transmitter works throughout the house at distances further than normal bluetooth. Easy to set up and use. A really good buy. - DC800 Just Works Great
After you set up the DC800, it just sort of melts into the background like it should. I use it to connect my Android Phone to my tube amplifier at home. The sound is great and connecting to the DC800 is simple. I would recommend this for someone who is looking to add bluetooth support to an existing home stereo system. - Exceeded expectations
I actually bought the DC800 four months ago, but never used it up to this point, since I have bluetooth capability from my laptop (I usually listen to most of my music from the laptop).
But just for the heck of it, I hooked it up to my laptop the other day and I was more than pleasantly surprised! Originally, I didn't think much of it because it comes with an AC cord, so how portable is that? But then I realized that it would also receive power via a USB-to-Mini-USB cord plugged into the laptop; therefore it extended portability exponentially.
Currently, I have it paired with Motorola HT-820 (easy pairing) headphones and the fidelity is great. What surprises me most, however, is the power of the signal to the headphones. If I were to use the bluetooth capability currently built into the laptop, I get an effective listening radius of around 20 feet, worse between walls (the signal becomes quite unreliable beyond that).
But with the DC800, the effective listening distance easily EXCEEDS 30 feet, even through walls. This is quite possibly the most powerful bluetooth device I've ever used. I used it at work today, and I was able to walk from my cubicle to the store room, which is behind two walls, and probably 50 feet away. The signal to the headphones was still strong and reliable--no drop outs.
In summary, I'm very pleased with the performance, and, incidentally, the portability of this device (if you're carrying a laptop). My only regret is that I didn't start using it a long time ago! - fantastic electronics
I'm glad I bought Motorola stock the other day. I have an android and now this, super products. I also wear phonak hearing aids, and I can plug my IPOD into this DC 800 and transmit to my ICON which in turn transmit to my hearing aids. Now I can listen to music at work and nobody knows. - Wireless range is great
I use this the product to stream Pandora from my my Android phone directly to my home stereo system while docked. The ranges is great and the product works very well.
