- Product Description
Fueltank can simultaneously charge two small electronic devices without the use of an outlet. It contains a rechargeable lithium ion battery which has more than 7 times the capacity of a standard mobile phone. The Fueltank utilizes device-specific adapters - the same ones used for Chargepod - so you can customize your Fueltank to meet the exact needs of you and your family. Proprietary voltage regulator technology senses the amount of power required to charge your devices. LED fuel capacity indicators display when charging indicator button is pressed.
Customer Reviews:
- older crapier model

Don't buy this fueltank through Amazon. The casing is cheaper than the one you will find at best buy or through the callpod website. There's a removable plastic cover that leaves a gaping hole to the inside of the device, absolutely unacceptable. Plus you only get 1 adapter as opposed to 3 as advertised on the official web site. Don't be fooled by the 20$ cheaper price tag, there's a reason for it and it's not worth it. I was very disappointed in my purchase; I will think twice from now on when the deal on Amazon looks too good to be true. - Very Large

I had originally intended to purchase the EcoSol Powerstick that is "about the size of a stick of gum" and receives its charge from a USB port, but opted to purchase the Fueltank instead. From the picture, I was thinking it would be about the size of a cell phone battery.
The Fueltank measures 5" x 2.2" x 6.5" (longer, wider, thicker than an iPhone) and weighs 4oz, but this does not include the power supply which adds another pound.
This review is not a criticism of the device and the manufacturer clearly states the size and weight. I just think it's worth noting that the device is much larger and heavier than one might expect.
Follow-up to original review:
I have discovered that Callpod makes an Uno which is half the size of the Fueltank Duo (The Duo is two Unos welded to together.) As of this writing, the Uno is not available for sale anywhere on Amazon. The Uno provides 3.5 hours of power vs. 7 for the Duo. I believe that the Uno offers a better trade off between portablilty and function. I purchased mine at Best Buy. - not impressed

I bought this device because I wanted to charge both a micro usb and usb device, I think to connector leads are too short, in some cases depending on the orientation of the connector the device now has to be placed upside down, and for the micro usb device it sometimes takes me multiple tries to get a good connection, wherein, the connector swupplied with the device works everytime. - Callpod Fueltank

I am disappointed with the functionality of the Fueltank. To make it work with Ipod Touch you have to twist and bend the connector to make it work, and even after that most of the time it does not charge the unit. You have to check often to see if it is charging and if not, twist and bend again. This product is not what I expected and at this time will not recommend anyone to spend their money in it. - Adapters for this appear to be junk

I will traveling abroad soon and it appeared that this new product would fit the bill for all my on the go charging needs. Not. After charging up the Duo, my first Duo "blew" out after plugging both my iPod Touch and Blackberry into the Duo chargers. The online Chat person thought I somehow got a "lemon" and that the adapter for the Blackberry was bad. The online Chat experience was fine. I exchanged it at Best Buy--now the second Duo adapter for the Blackberry works fine, but the adapter for the Touch---nothing. The other adapters work fine. Wow. Was this product pushed through and shipped too soon? These were too different Best Buys in two different areas of the city. Perhaps their vendor is supplying bad adapters, but shouldnt some testing occur with these adapters? I will return this one for a refund and look elsewhere. If I had time, I would have purchased these via Amazon because they are much cheaper here! $20 difference---
