- Tenuous fit, but at least cheaply made
Some reviewers cite how easily the charging pod tips over. That's because one has to wiggle and slide the phone until one finds an illusive perfect resting position in the pod in order to induce a charge. The pod is allegedly made for the BlackBerry Bold 9000 -- but obviously, an obese one. It's hard to believe that the same company that manufactured the phone made the charging pod as well. This is outsourcing to two suppliers who are clearly not on the same page -- or pod. Look elsewhere. - Simple, effective and handsome
I use this charger at work charging from my PC USB. I can easily drop in my BB and charge it so I tend to have the BB in the charger when at my desk. I can easily grab my phone if I need to wander from my desk. Beats having to connect/disconnect to the USB charger so it encourages me to charge the phone.
Another nice feature is that the BB shows the clock while charging so I have a clock on my desk now.
The only downside is it does not provide syncing to the PC - only charging.
I am considering buying another for home too. - wonderful way to charge
Have had my Bold for over a year and WISH I'd had this charging pod for that long. I'm sure the pod was more expensive when the Bold came out, but especially now, with this pricing, no one should hesitate to get one. What a wonderful way to be able to charge the phone.
Note: For some reason, the very first time I set the phone into the pod, nothing happened. I kept looking at it to see if there was something I needed to remove so that the phone would "connect" but couldn't even decide what area DID connect. I sat it into the pod a few more times, and all of a sudden, it turned to the clock display (which tells you for sure you are in charge mode). It has never failed to connect since. You don't have to push or anything like that, so I never did know what was wrong in the beginning.

I have this at my desk at work, home and i keep one in my travel bag. These work very well and are worth the price. Never had any problems with any of them. - One is not enough!
Perfect little accessory for the Bold. I bought 2, one for the nightstand at home and one for work. Sometimes you need to slightly adjust the phone so that it makes contact & charges, but it's really a minor issue. One tip is that if you have the phone set to go into Bedside Mode when charging, it will give you the message 'Entering Bedside Mode' when it is correctly inserted in the charger base....so that way you know it's correctly connected. Then if you need to see the display (like at work I sometimes stream music while it is charging), just press the back arrow & it prompts you to exit & then just press the roller ball.
Remember that the actual wall charger is not included, so if you buy 2 of these, make sure to buy another wall charger, since your original charger will be used with one pod....well unless you want to unplug the power cord and take it with you, but if that's the case you can just take everything to the second location. Too much hassle IMO, so having a second one all plugged in & ready to charge is great.
The analog clock actually looks really cool in the product photo, so I just switched my phone's clock from digital to that, lol.
