This item is working very well for me. The function lights are helpful, as are the outlets on the side and the folding plug. The only real drawback is the size. This isn't really a small device. It isn't huge, but if your carrying case is a tight fit, you may want to look into smaller options.
In summary, I was a bit dismayed at the large size, but it works beautifully otherwise. If you need something super-portable, maybe look for the type of surge protector that fits neatly into the cord. If you have room for a small hunk of plastic in carrying case and aren't looking to spend much, this is a great choice! - Very convenient for travel
This product has a fold up plug and two outlets, lights to indicate power on and proper grounding, and is reasonably compact for travel.
On a recent vacation my hotel room literally had one available outlet. I plugged this product in and now had two outlets, which still was not enough. Into one of the outlets on this unit I plugged a 6 foot extension cord with three outlets at the end; and into one of those outlets I plugged the Monster 4 outlet travel plug (which has a very short wire; hence the need for the extension cord). I now had more than enough free outlets plus the benefit of surge protection.
When not traveling, I use this product at home to protect the outlet where I charge my BlackBerry Tour, Slacker G2 player, and Kindle 2. For travel and home use I like this product. - Belkin Travel Surge Protector
This surge protector is big, bulky and heavy. But it is sturdy -not really good for travel as advertised cuz it takes up so much room in your netbook case. An inline surge protector would have been better. But then it only cost less than $8 so I can't expect much. - so far so good
I have had the belkin travel surge protector for 2 months now. It is great for peace of mind when away from home (or at home away from surge protector). My husband had his laptop plugged in at home without surge protection and while out a storm fried his computer. So I took a lesson and bought this one for home and away. It works great. I haven't had any problem with the surge outlet being sticky - as mentioned in some reviews. It's been great! Definitely recommend!
